The Next True Test of The Tea Party

THIS IS ANOTHER RAY LYTLE EDITORIAL THAT WILL MORE THAN LIKELY ANGER THE IGNORANT AND UNENLIGHTENED.

(That is why I use a sweet baby picture of myself in hopes it calms their anger)

I keep hearing over and over again how angry the people in the TEA PARTY are. I also hear how they are the true patriots as all they care about is helping the little guy and making government stop spending.

REALLY?

Well, to all of you in the Tea Party I have this to say. You have done absolutely nothing to show that you stand for any of what you claim you stand for. But you have a test coming up where you can prove that your actions speak louder than your words.

Now let me preface this by saying... there is no doubt in my mind that you will fail this test. I honestly feel you will do what you did last time you had this test and become nothing more than lightly veiled racists who don't do anything but bitch about the black socialist running the country and simply repeat the Republican talking points that are brainwashed into you from Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Of course these talking points are all compliments of the Republican party and of course the Republicans get them from the Lobbyists supporting Big Business in this country. The same big business that is financing the GOP in their upcoming elections where they can get the chance to win back the house.

I know a lot of people love to Bash Obama and keep their eyes closed to the BS that the Republican Party has been doing to derail the current administration.

We are all entitled to our opinion.... It's America right? Having an opinion is what we're all about. Of course it would work better if it were an informed opinion and if it was grouped with just a

little bit of compassion and common sense. Unfortunately for many the opinion they spread is in fact not their own. It is the opinion of the rich white guy on the Radio or the guy on Capitol Hill that has an R next to his name.

Tea Partier's will soon have a test that will allow them to prove their opinion is in fact their own.

BUT FIRST... allow me to set the stage.

I know that health care reform made an attempt to Regulate the insurance industry to keep costs for the average American down, to keep companies from raising premiums, denying coverage, and the ending of other disgusting practices.

I also know that this Health Care reform didn't go far enough. In fact I think it is really watered down legislation.

Why is it watered down? For starters it is due in part to our President's insistence that it be Bi-partisan. Obama's insistence led to reduced fines for horrible activities, the loss of the public option which in my opinion was the single biggest thing that would lower premiums for the average American. Of course this helped the Pharmaceutical company lobbyists who were given enough time to get involved in actually eventually helping in the writing of the bill. They successfully fooled the administration into going easier on them meanwhile padding the pockets of the opposition candidates war chest so they can run in November and do their bidding. Oh and let me point out they didn't just give money to GOP members. Plenty of conservative Democrats got that money too. Bottom line was they got off pretty easy in the Health Care reform.

The health care industry and their lobbyist were like the big evil bad guy in a James Bond Movie. They had a plan and that plan was to DELAY this bill as long as they could so it could be written in a way that it wouldn't be so bad for them.

How do you delay?

Well we know they got the Republicans to convince Obama that putting in some of these easier to swallow regulations would give him some Republican support. By the way IT DIDN'T and I hope the President remembers that in this next fight.

Number Two... They had to find a way to help the Republicans convince people that they weren't total scumbags for voting against something that was obviously set up to help the common middle and lower class American. They had to find a way to get the people fired up. That came pretty easy actually thanks to the Talk Radio cult leaders like the afore mentioned Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh. How much underwriting did these guys receive? I would love to see how much they charged to sell their souls.

You see the Evil Bond Villains knew they had people out their with a short temper and more importantly a short memory. You know the same folks that applauded the George Bush Bail out plan for Wall Street but went crazy at the thought of Obama doing the same thing. The same exact folks that complained about Government running their lives and spending frivolously on poor Americans welfare but had no problem with the trillion dollars spent on our Government invading Iraq, taking over all its infrastructure and by the way providing aid and welfare for the Iraqi people. Oh and they also helped out with the Health care but that's another story for another time.

Yes the evil Big Business Lobbyists had their plan that would help them win this battle by DELAYING this bill as long as possible. Their secret weapon... The Tea Party.

So, How was the Tea Party born? It had to be in small town America where some freedom loving folks got together and started a movement at a local bake sale or something right?

WRONG!

The tea party was born on FOX NEWS when it spent days talking about a MSNBC report where reporter Rick Santelli made some remarks while on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile exchange. It was then followed up on by Glen Beck and his formation of the 912 project in between his fake tears and of course commercials that told of the wonders of pharmaceuticals and of course Capitol One credit cards. That's what started the movement. It wasn't some fed up Americans doing it on their own it was sheep following the lead of billion dollar companies with multi million dollar hosts encouraging them to stand up and speak their mind. Of course by their I mean the host's mind and certainly not the individual speaking.

Those were the people that the Health Care industry used. They created and funded Private groups that usually had "Americans for" or "organization for freedom" in the title that would fund commercials encouraging you to tell your congressman to vote no on health care reform. They paid for Sara Palin to come make speeches at Tea Party Gatherings preaching to them that health care for all is evil all the while forgetting to mention that her family would cross the border into Canada to use their universal Government run health care system.

I know that there were people who had no health care and people who were spending almost half their paycheck on healthcare that actually were against the President's reform plan. They had listened to the lies from talk show host and town hall speakers who somehow convinced them that reduced cost health care would be bad for them. I personally know of someone with an existing condition who was being dropped from his health care company that called his congressman to tell them to vote no on the health care bill simply because that's what Glen Beck said he should do.

I know that the calls and letters and protests and town hall angst all allowed the Repubulicans to achieve their goal of helping the Evil Bond Villains DELAY the Health care reform bill to the point that it will never do what it could've done.

Yes President Obama got his bill and the majority of us got a small win but it could have been a big win and it wasn't.

I know that in the next fight we need a big win or we are all doomed.

SO HERE WE GO AGAIN...

Dear Tea Partiers,

Here is your test...

Democrats are trying to push through the Presidents plan to REGULATE Wall St financial institutions. Remember them? They were the people whose shady practices led to the collapsed economy we are all living in. They were the people that took bail out money in order to save their crooked asses and then had the audacity to give themselves raises and gigantic bonuses while Unemployment rates continued to sky rocket and the Average American paid the price for their sins.

The President wants to Regulate them so that what happened in the last couple of years cannot happen again. He also wants to make it more fair for the little banks instead of having more gigantic banks that are too big to fail. I know your'e familiar with that term. He wants transparency in the banking industry so we can see what the banks are up to and catch them on their crooked behavior once it starts instead of after it's affected us all. Most of all Obama wants open debate to discuss and come up with a plan to Regulate these irresponsible Greedy Bastards on Wall Street.

The Republicans however led by the Bond villain looking Senator Mitch Mcconnell are now saying that they will block any attempts to do this.

Of course Mcconnell came up with this plan to block after personally meeting with Wall Street Bankers and their lobbyists last week in a several hour meeting. Many of the lobbyists being used by the big Financial companies are the same folks who just successfully watered down the Health care reform bill with their delay tactics.

WHAT!!! Is this Serious? Are they actually going to try to do it again? Are they actually going to try to convince people that not Regulating these criminals on Wall Street is the way to go. The Republicans are Blocking Debate on the issue of Wall Street Financial Reform. That's right they wont even allow the Senate to discuss it with open debate. They are of course afraid that some people might actually hear what it is they are for and more importantly we could hear what it is they oppose.

Now of course I predict that they will enact the same DELAY strategy. The Republicans will somehow in the next couple of days say that they want to wait in order to come up with a plan of their own. You know just like the non existent health care reform plan they claimed they were coming up with.

It worked before so why won't it work again?

I cant wait to see how the GOP along with Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity convince Americans that it is a good idea to keep the status quo on Wall Street.

The bad part about it this time is Delaying it wont just mean a watered down version. If they can hold out until November it will mean no Reform for Wall Street at all. If the Republicans can take back Capitol Hill after Election day there will never even be a vote. There certainly wont be any debate or even the chance to ever pull off reconciliation again.

So the real test for The Tea Partier's is right around the corner. You will get the call. It will be like the Secret Cylons hearing "all along the watch tower" in Battlestar Galactica to spring them to life, or Hurley seeing Dead people on the island that tell the jolly Lost-er where to lead the other castaways. The call will come from the Evil Bond Villains and you will have a chance to stand up for what you claim you believe in or drink your kool-aid like a good Fox News viewer.

I predict that the call from the cult leaders will come and the loyal TP'ers will line right up to find reasons why Financial Reform is bad even though it's not going to cost our government any money and will help Americans. In fact the only people it will hurt are those billionaires who get obscene bonuses when their companies fail and the criminals who profit from our economic suffering as a nation.

I know that it wont be long until I am sitting back and being astonished that Tea Partier's are somehow against regulation that is so desperately needed in this country.

If the delay can be stopped... the President will get his reform. It will be a watered down reform similar to the Health Care bill that could have done so much more.

Then of course it will be on to Regulating the Credit Card Industry when the Tea Partier's will tell us all how it is good for us to pay 40% interest rates..... can't wait.

The Test is starting soon and I have my Red Pen ready to mark that big F on the Tea Partier's papers.
