Ray Lytle's Morning Disaster

What a concert! Thanks to everyone who came out. For those that didnt I will post some pictures starting tomorrow. the good news is my boy BIG D was in the house and took a ton of pictures. Even though I havent played a pickles gig in 8 months it was awesome to be on stage playing with Tony, Dave and Judd. According to my feedback after the show we pulled it off. It was a blast. The final two songs which were Lesbian Rocker and a cover of Baba O reilly were amazing from my standpoint even though I am so out of playing shape I was running on pure adrenaline. By the way Lambo went and bought a bunch of extra beer for the VIP party to keep it going all the way until about 10 minutes ago. I will post a more comprehensive and reflective look back at everything when i wind down and wake up from a long sleep.

Wow what a show! I have never seen that many people in the radio station. This morning was incredible. thanks to everyone who tuned in today and thanks to all the former show members and friends who stopped by the studio for the show. I will give a comprehensive report on what happened later but Spanky was right I could hardly speak the last 10 minutes because i was so emotional. Yes it finally sunk in. I will miss doing the show. I have to nap so my voice and body will be ready for tonight but i will update later today and tomorrow plus big d took buttload of pictures. i will put some up on this site over the next few days. Tomorrow is the big FINALE. It should be a good one. I do want to take time to thank Nick Rogers with the State Journal register for his kind words in todays newspaper A&E section. It was a nice read. Hell it made me like the guy who wrote about. Then I noticed he was talking about me. the Finale is going to have a star studded cast in Morning disaster terms. I think you listeners are going to hear some voices you havent heard in a while and I was told there might be some surprises too so who knows. All I know is it might be the most listened to show we have ever had and it is nice to go out knowing that. Now lets all hope they dont tune away when Shawn does the final news cast. By the way i am intentially having Shawn do the final newscast. Mad dog and Doran and Allysin will do earlier ones that way listeners wont tune out until Shawn does his. Seriously tomorrow should be a special show and I hope you can all tune in.

I always like this picture because it looks like i am playing a solo. Actually i am just doing what I always do and that is playing Chords to "Lesbian rocker" my one hit song that i wrote. Remember the VIP party starts at 6pm Friday night. there will be some food , drink , cake, and tons of memories including some of my photo albums that everyone can browse through. Remember the VIP party is for former show members, interns, friends of the show, and you listeners who have been regulars throughout all the years. It is a way to say thank you and have some fun at the same time. It is starting to set in that something major is happening in my life but still not all the way there. Spanky's prediction is that it will finally hit me 10 minutes after the pickles gig is over. I know my daugher Bella is coming to see daddy sing and play guitar so that will be cool. I am looking forward to taking 10 minutes to myself with Deidra and Bella after the gig to catch a breath before

Special guests on todays (8-11-05) show Brando and Rich. great stories about a pretty strange time in the history of the show. It was during the network days. And it was the time my brother passed away and I got sick, of course sept 11th happened and my daughter was born. With all the bad stuff that happened there were also some hysterical stories and some great bits that the guys were responsible for like the HESTON interviews and of course the infamous "your all grown up now Charlie Brown".

Allysin was a guest on the show today. It was fantastic seeing her again and fun as hell to here her do the news. Much better than Shawn but then again most homeless people off the street can do better than him. Allysin by the way has always been hot but WoW has marriage done wonders for her. She is smoking these days and you should see her in a bikini. She had pix from her honeymoon in Barbados. I got to get some of those for this page. Allysin promises to return for the bash on Friday night at the WAREHOUSE. I keep waiting for it to sink in that I will be unemployed and done with the chapter of my life that is WQLZ. I have to be honest though, it still hasnt.It feels like I am getting ready to go away on vacation. I guess it should though considering I am planning on heading to a beach to just chill out when it is all said and done next week. hey I wonder if Jessica Alba is still down there (see below) Here is the answer to the question I will undoubtedly ask myself on Friday night

This is seriously the longest week ever. None of this has started to sink in yet. I am thinking with my luck it will finally hit 20 seconds before I have to give my final words which will be some type of speech. The big party is Friday night. The band continues to practice to be ready. Looks like were gonna do some originals like Lesbian Rocker and Troll Woman plus I am gonna pull out some classic stuff that I have done over the years. The VIP party is going to get underway at 6pm with former show members and close listeners invited for some snacks and drinks before the concert starts. We also will be selling Best of CDs and the handful of T-shirts I have left at the concert. You can enter the VIP section and get your CDs signed by the various show members who will be there. If you are a long time listener who has called in a lot and has been to our other celebrations chances are you will be allowed in the VIP party. The clock continues to tick. It looks like Fridays finale is going to be an awesome show though. To any former members of the show who are reading this. I want you to come in or at least call in on Friday Morning. The farewell party/Concert Friday night is going to rock too.
