Health Care Reform

The more I read of this Health Care Reform bill, The more I feel that the folks on the wrong side of this will one day be embarrassed. It seems that the only people who would benefit from this bill NOT passing would be the insurance companies and people who make more than 250 grand taxable because their medicare costs would go up in 2014 if it passes. Small business tax credits are a good thing we aren't hearing about, God Forbid people who get dividends pay a 3 percent tax which is in this bill.
Voting NO on this bill is the same as voting YES for the insurance companies. But lets face it this isn't about health care its about Our Team vs your team. Black and white, rich and poor, liberal vs conservative. There were people that fought civil rights, womens right to vote and abolition of slavery too. The arguments for this have been the cost (which by the way we never heard of cost being an issue when we liberated Iraq) Process (which we never heard of being an issue when reconciliation was used to pass the Bush tax cuts in 01 and 03 and the tax increase prevention act of 05)
I can't wait to see Republicans attempt to defend their NO vote a few years from now.

I agree with you. While this bill is by no means perfect it's definitely historic and a huge step in the right direction. I think they will work on getting the public option passed before President Obama's 1st has ended.

I also think it's funny that all of the right wingers who criticized Obama on his lack of experience was able to get a major health care reform passed, which no president has been able to accomplish in over 50 years.

I think history will judge those who opposed health care the same way it judges those who opposed civil rights.
