ObamaCare... People are actually starting to get it

After Sunday's historical vote and Monday's day of sorrow and grieving for the Tea Baggers and Ultra conservatives, today was the day. This morning Tuesday March 23 President Barrack Hussein Obama (I included the Hussein for my conservative friends so that they know who I am talking about and considering they call the President Hussein I wanted them to know who it was I was referencing) Anyway... The President Barrack Obama signed into law House Resolution 3200 (HR 3200)aka The Health Reform act and also known as in what will one day be one of the biggest Stupid moves by the Right...Obamacare. They call it ObamaCare because their theory .... tying the Presidents name to this act Would forever connect Hussein Obama with failure. This of course was perpetuated by the Motivated and passionate opposition created by the Politicians, pundits and News Networks who receive the Republican talking points. The plan .. Scare people away from supporting this much needed reform.

ObamaCare was the catch phrase you heard over and over again as they were showing polls that they said reflected the will of the people. Once again according the Fox News's of this world the polls reflect the will of the people that is unless the poll says something they disagree with. And there Ladies and Gentlemen is the problem.
You see prior to the vote the polls were showing that Americans were Not in favor or Health Care reform and were somehow claiming to be happy with their current healthcare situation. Of course these poll numbers were coming out when all you heard was Process stories about reconciliation and how the Democrats were looking to sneak this bill through. Oh NO How dare they sneak through a bill that helps children and average Americans. Even more sad... Why would they have to sneak it through? Look at the list of things that this Bill does... Eliminating the practice of denying coverage to children with existing conditions. I can see how everyone hates advantages going to children. Now I don't think that the people against this bill were against sick children or the average American getting cut a break by not having the worry of losing insurance when they get sick. I also don't think they were for protecting the obscene profits of the Insurance companies. I think there was a bombardment of smoke and mirrors from the right that clouded their judgement. All we heard about were the Process stories, the Fear mongering that we were somehow going to become a socialist country simply by having affordable insurance, Oh My God we're going to become Canada and replace our Nascar love for Hockey Love and all football offenses will switch to three downs instead of four. OH MY GOD!! They also pushed the veiled conservative racism that comes in the form of the "oh my god there is people gonna get something for nothing" argument. You know that one right? The argument where they somehow convince hard working white folks into somehow thinking the poor minorities who don't want to better themselves or are too lazy to get a job will do nothing but live on the tax dollars of all the Sara Palin fans.

The arguments also clouded the media reporting of the actual health care reform bill. Well the arguments along with the millions of dollars in ad money for Levitra and Cialis commercials that goes to TV Networks.

Anyway, nobody really got a chance to find out what was in the bill so the Polls were showing that the smoke and mirrors were working. The average American who was going to be helped by this bill had no idea that it was positive because all they heard was we were on our way to Socialism Hell if it passed. The Republicans and political pundits were so sure it was not going to pass that a certain Obese pill popping member of the pundit variety actually said he would move to Costa Rica if it passed. So they named it ObamaCare in hopes that this failure of a bill would be associated with the name Obama forever. You know perception is reality.

Then a funny thing happened.....

Democrats in spite of the polling numbers that showed the public was against the bill, voted yes anyway.

Then another funny thing happened....

The stories no longer were about Process or fear but about what this bills passage actually meant. What the benefits of the bill actually were. And now in less than 24 hours the first polls have come out. THE USA TODAY/GALLUP poll is the first. It can be found HERE

Well look at that! The positives are going up, the negatives are going down, and the number of people who think that there is no fix necessary for health care was down to just 8%

Wow! See how opinions start to change when people actually take a couple of minutes to read just what they are getting with this health care bill. In the last few days I have heard the surprise in peoples voices when they hear this health care bill actually helps Children and average families. People are so angry when they think it just helps the poor (which by the way I still don't understand why people have such contempt for those people in this world who have nothing), but when they find out it helps everybody they soon start to realize that this health care bill isn't that bad. When they stop hearing process stories or fear mongering and actually get down to the heart of whats in this they start to become slightly enlightened. It's not much enlightenment but it's a start...

But the biggest enlightenment comes from the Right wing themselves who now have to put up with the phrase ObamaCare being associated with a positive bill that passed and a health care reform that people are actually beginning to realize is a good thing. And of course let's look at the real losers in this fight...... Costa Rica!
