Ray Lytle's Morning Disaster

It is Saturday evening and I just got back in town from my beach vacation. It was incredible. My wife in a bikini. My daughter and me hanging out by the pool. Walking the beach. Of course I also found time to go to a couple of job interviews as well early in the week. We just got done driving over 20 hours straight so I am gonna sleep til tomorrow some time. Do me a favor though you guys.... LAY OFF VALERIE FOR A WHILE!!! Seriously I like her. Besides my little brother is her producer. I dont know what happened this week as I have been gone. I was under the impression they werent going to start until after labor day. Thats what I was told before I left for vacation. I say give them a month of laying off them on MY BOARD. After that say whatever you want. Just give them a month. If it sucks after a month then go nuts.

What a fun time the concert was on Friday night. You never know it might be the last time that I play in a concert setting. Who knows if the next gig allows me to have a band? If I never play again this was a hell of a night to go out on.. The crowd is waiting for the Itchy Pickles to start Jim the photographer comes out on stage to do a toast and welcome the band. Time for me to say hello and dedicates this song to everybody.... Just to fuck with the crowd and the whole gang I start a solo version cover of the Clash's "should I stay or should I go" The band rocks out to our second most played single "troll woman" Tony tells Judd that I am gonna let Dave do a drum solo... Why not? Dave rocks a drum solo that blows us away.. Thats all I say goodnight after Lesbian Rocker and our cover of Baba O reilly while Judd gives Dave a thumbs up.

This is what it looked like after the long silence and Marvin cracking a joke. Look at me crying like a little bitch. Not one of my proudest moments. Part of the pain comes from my knowing that Spanky has won the crying bet. Finally made it past crying and now the final words. Last but not least.... Last Friday (August 12th) was an amazing morning for me. When I announced I was going to leave I told Bodine to make sure my final show was filled with friends and that the show was something to remember. He did not let me down. Phonecalls went out to everybody and the turnout was amazing. I saw friends I hadnt seen in years during those last couple weeks of broadcast. These are some photos from the final show. I was literally too tired to do anything except just sleep and chill since Friday. However, I went out Saturday night for a while and hung out at the warehouse watching the NMW show. I thought it was a nice show. I thought they could have turned the mics up a little bit but then I was still deaf from Friday. In ring action was very good. Everytime I see him I realize that the Prime time playa is a STAR. That guy has charisma and can really go in the ring. Of course Guy and Billy are awesome and they are two guys that whenever I see them I will sit and bullshit about wrestling for a half an hour or talk about movies or whatever. They are just good guys. Madman is awesome. Amazing charisma for someone who displays a limited in ring vocabulary. the setting up of the eventual Shane vs Shard sometime down the road is nice too. Overall this was a nice show. I have so many more thoughts on everything but I dont want to end up being like that chronic masturbator Crimefighter and go off on the ...

Yes I am getting the e-mails. I promise that I will get up some of my thoughts on my final show and concert last Friday. I am waiting for BIG D to send me some photos so I can post them with my entry. I promise I will get some up before I leave for the beach.

Whenever I am wanting to put off talking about myself and starting the hard part of documenting the final show and last weekend I can always count on Paris Hilton to do something to help me. Wow. Feels like I slept non stop for the last week. I did however check out the cubs game last night and the TNA ppv SACRIFICE. Then I went back to bed.

Hey everybody. Bodine did a real cool thing on Friday. He recorded the entire final show and turned it into an MP3 on one CD. We handed them out to the show members at the VIP party and a bunch of listeners asked if they could have one. We unfortunately didnt have any extras to give out that night. I did however get the master and made some copies. If anyone wants a copy I can get it to you. What a concert! Thanks to everyone who came out. For those that didnt I will post some pictures starting tomorrow. the good news is my boy BIG D was in the house and took a ton of pictures. Even though I havent played a pickles gig in 8 months it was awesome to be on stage playing with Tony, Dave and Judd. According to my feedback after the show we pulled it off. It was a blast. The final two songs which were Lesbian Rocker and a cover of Baba O reilly were amazing from my standpoint even though I am so out of playing shape I was running on pure adrenaline. By the way Lambo went and bought a bunch of extra beer for the VIP party to keep it going all the way until about 10 minutes ago. I will post a more comprehensive and reflective look back at everything when i wind down and wake up from a long sleep.

Wow what a show! I have never seen that many people in the radio station. This morning was incredible. thanks to everyone who tuned in today and thanks to all the former show members and friends who stopped by the studio for the show. I will give a comprehensive report on what happened later but Spanky was right I could hardly speak the last 10 minutes because i was so emotional. Yes it finally sunk in. I will miss doing the show. I have to nap so my voice and body will be ready for tonight but i will update later today and tomorrow plus big d took buttload of pictures. i will put some up on this site over the next few days. Tomorrow is the big FINALE. It should be a good one. I do want to take time to thank Nick Rogers with the State Journal register for his kind words in todays newspaper A&E section. It was a nice read. Hell it made me like the guy who wrote about. Then I noticed he was talking about me. the Finale is going to have a star studded cast in Morning disaster terms. I think you listeners are going to hear some voices you havent heard in a while and I was told there might be some surprises too so who knows. All I know is it might be the most listened to show we have ever had and it is nice to go out knowing that. Now lets all hope they dont tune away when Shawn does the final news cast. By the way i am intentially having Shawn do the final newscast. Mad dog and Doran and Allysin will do earlier ones that way listeners wont tune out until Shawn does his. Seriously tomorrow should be a special show and I hope you can all tune in.

I always like this picture because it looks like i am playing a solo. Actually i am just doing what I always do and that is playing Chords to "Lesbian rocker" my one hit song that i wrote. Remember the VIP party starts at 6pm Friday night. there will be some food , drink , cake, and tons of memories including some of my photo albums that everyone can browse through. Remember the VIP party is for former show members, interns, friends of the show, and you listeners who have been regulars throughout all the years. It is a way to say thank you and have some fun at the same time. It is starting to set in that something major is happening in my life but still not all the way there. Special guests on todays (8-11-05) show Brando and Rich. great stories about a pretty strange time in the history of the show. It was during the network days. And it was the time my brother passed away and I got sick, of course sept 11th happened and my daughter was born. With all the bad stuff that happened there were also some hysterical stories and some great bits that the guys were responsible for like the HESTON interviews and of course the infamous "your all grown up now Charlie Brown".
